Our Holle Stage 3 Organic Goat Milk Toddler Formula doesn’t contain any harmful ingredients, making it an excellent substitute for breast milk. You can easily use this formula to supplement your little one’s balanced diet, including solid foods.

What Is a Stage 3 Formula?

Stage 3 formula is a type of follow-on formula specifically designed for infants 10 months or older, following the use of stage 2 formula. It contains higher levels of starch, nutrients, and energy than stage 2 formula, making it more nutritious than whole milk and other milk alternatives such as almond milk and coconut milk. Holle Stage 3 organic baby milk formula is made with organic skim milk from grass-fed goats and contains fewer calories, fats, and carbohydrates compared to stage 2 formulas. It is an ideal follow-on milk for babies 10+ months and older.

FAQs

How much stage 3 formula per day should my baby receive?

When using Stage 3 formula, it is recommended that babies aged 10 months and up should get about 2-3 ounces of infant formula every 2-3 hours. This amounts to 8-10 feedings per day. It is best if parents provide their babies with only the formula and not any other milks such as cow's milk. For toddlers who are not using Stage 3 or Stage 4 formulas, it is recommended that they drink 1 and 2/3 to 2 cups of whole milk per day.

Can my 8-month-old baby have Stage 3 formula?

No, a baby at 8 months of age cannot have stage 3 formula. Stage 3 formula is designed for babies aged 10 months and above and is not appropriate for use with infants that age. At 8 months, babies should be consuming 6 to 8 ounces (180–240 mL) at each of 4 or 5 feedings in 24 hours and should be receiving a balanced diet of breast milk or stage 2 infant formula for their growth and development. It is recommended to wait until a baby is about 6 months old before beginning solid foods. After one year of age, parents may offer their child pasteurized whole cow's milk or reduced-fat (2%) milk; alternatively, Holle Stage 3 formula can be used as a complete substitute for breast milk for babies and toddlers aged 10 months and up.

Does Holle goat milk have probiotics?

Holle does not add any probiotics or prebiotics to its organic cow's milk formula, but these additives can be purchased separately and added as a supplement. In comparison, HiPP's organic cow's milk formula does contain prebiotics and probiotics. Holle organic goat milk formula has more probiotics than cow's milk. Prebiotics and probiotics are found in a mother's breast milk, and they act as food for the bacteria in a baby's belly which helps with digestion. A good alternative to Kabrita is Holle Goat Formula, as it is organic, contains no ARA, and has no pre/probiotics added.

Why do you have to throw out formula after 24 hours?

Scientific research has shown that it is important to throw out any unused formula after 24 hours. This is because bacteria from your baby's mouth can begin to grow in the formula when it is sitting at room temperature. Additionally, a baby's saliva has digestive enzymes in it, and this combination can cause bacteria to grow. Even if the bottle of formula is not given to your infant, it should be stored safely in the fridge and used within 24 hours. If the baby starts a bottle but doesn't finish it within an hour, the leftover formula must be thrown away. Otherwise, bacteria could be introduced in the next feeding. Studies have also demonstrated that babies are very sensitive to the potential bacterial contamination of formula, so it is essential to discard any unused formula quickly and safely.

How many ounces of prepared Holle formula does one box make?

One box of Holle Stage 3 formula makes approximately 102 fluid ounces of prepared formula, which is equivalent to 20 bottles of 5 ounces each. The box contains a scoop that holds 4 grams and no matter what size bottle is being used, the scoop should be used for each bottle. Consult your pediatrician when making decisions involving your baby and diet.
