Benefits of Goat Milk Formula

HiPP goat’s milk formula is highly digestible due to its incredible similarity to breast milk, making it the perfect choice for many babies, especially those who are sensitive to cow’s milk formulas.

Stages 1 to 3 of the formula are all nutritionally complete, having all of the vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids your baby needs, as well as providing plenty of energy to support their growth and activity.

It is also EU-certified organic, meaning that it meets the highest standards. On top of this, it is also guaranteed to be free from heavy metals and synthetic pesticides and herbicides, meaning that your baby will be getting all of the good things they need, without any of the bad.

Most milks and milk-based formulas contain two different forms of what is known as the beta-casein protein, A1 and A2. These two proteins are similar, but as they are not both necessary, HiPP’s goat’s milk formula is made with only the A2 form. This means that the A1 form, which is the most common cause of the discomfort associated with lactose intolerance, is omitted completely.

Is Goat Milk Formula Similar to Breastmilk?

Goat’s milk is naturally very similar to breastmilk in terms of its nutritional composition and, when used as the base for a milk formula, can be made even more similar. That’s why HiPP’s goat’s milk formula bears such an incredible similarity to breastmilk. This similarity makes it an ideal option for anyone who is looking for either a replacement or a substitute for their baby.

One of the primary differences between different types of milk is the ratio of the two main proteins: whey and casein. Whilst breastmilk has a whey-to-casein ratio of approximately 60:40, cow’s milk has a far different protein breakdown with a whey-to-casein ratio of just 20:80. Goat’s milk lands between these with a roughly even split between the two different proteins, but when used in HiPP formula, a small amount of additional whey, also sourced from organic milk, can be added to make the composition even closer to breastmilk.

This similarity to breastmilk means that HiPP’s goat’s milk formula is a healthy choice that can give your baby everything they need while being easy for them to digest, no matter how sensitive their tummy may be.

Is Goat Milk Formula Easier to Digest than Other Formulas?

Due to its remarkable similarity to breast milk, HiPP’s goat milk formula can be much easier for babies to digest than other milk formulas, particularly those based around cow’s milk. This makes it a great option to consider if your baby is experiencing issues with digestion from other formulas, though you should always seek and follow the advice of a qualified pediatrician when necessary.

What Makes HiPP Goat Milk Formula Different From Other Brands?

Whilst there are many good goat’s milk formulas available, including Holle and Kabrita, there are some differences that set them apart.

Though both HiPP and Holle are certified organic, Kabrita’s farms are not, though their milk is free from antibiotics and extraneous hormones. Their additional ingredients are certified organic, however.

HiPP really sets itself apart by avoiding the use of palm oil in its formulas, which many parents may wish to avoid due to its negative impact on the environment, and the addition of prebiotics, which help improve your baby’s levels of good bacteria, strengthening their immune and digestive systems.

The organic and EU-implemented standards that HiPP and the other formulas discussed here follow are fundamentally different to those of FDA-regulated formulas. This means there are different requirements for them in terms of nutritional composition and manufacturing standards, though both should be nutritionally complete. Additionally, FDA approval does not communicate any information about whether a formula is made using organic ingredients, unlike the EU-organic certification awarded to HiPP’s formula.

Stages of HiPP Goat Milk Formula

HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 1

HiPP’s stage 1 formula can be used for babies from birth up to the age of six months. It contains all of the vitamins and minerals a newborn baby needs, including vitamins A, C, and D which are required for strong and healthy bones, and the Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids needed for brain and eye development. You can also be reassured that your baby will not be getting exposed to any GMOs, corn syrup, gluten, or any other preservatives.

HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 2

The stage 2 goat milk formula is intended for babies aged six months and older and is the perfect follow-on for babies who have already been using HiPP’s stage 1 formula. As well as containing all the vitamins and minerals found in stage 1, it also contains nearly six times the amount of prebiotics than are found in standard formulas. This means your baby will have even healthier immune and digestive systems.

HiPP Dutch Goat Stage 3

The stage 3 formula is ideal for babies aged 12 months and over and continues to provide them with additional quality nutrition as they transition to a solid-food diet. As with the other stages of the HiPP formula, it is organic, GMO-free, and nutritionally complete. This means that it will continue to support your baby whilst being gentle on their tummy, which is perfect as they make the transition to a solid-food diet.
