Prep

Wash hands and sterilize all equipment following the manufacturer's instructions. 

Boil 1 liter of fresh drinking water and leave to cool for no longer than 30 minutes. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water. 

Measure the required amount of water into a sterilized bottle (refer to the feeding guide). 

Using only the scoop provided, add the correct number of scoops of powder - 1 level scoop of powder to each fluid ounce of water (approx. 30ml). Level off the powder using the scoop leveler. Do not press down on the powder. 

Place cap(s) back on the bottle and shake rigorously until all the powder has dissolved (usually 15 seconds). 

Cool down formula to a drinking temperature of approx. 98.6°F (37°C) by holding the bottle under cool running water. Feed immediately. Always test the temperature of the milk before feeding.

What is the difference between HiPP stage 2 and HiPP stage 3 formula?

HiPP stage 2 is suitable for babies aged six months and over, whilst the stage 3 formula is only suitable for babies aged ten months and over. Both are suitable to use as either a supplement to or a substitute for breast milk.

In terms of nutrition, stage 2 and stage 3 have different levels of carbohydrates, protein, and various vitamins and minerals. This is because their ingredients are tailored to what your baby needs at each specific age.

When do you switch to HiPP stage 3?

Typically, parents will switch their baby to HiPP stage 3 from around 10 to 12 months of age, but no earlier than ten months, at which point they will discontinue using the HiPP stage 2 formula. As always, if you have any concerns regarding your baby’s diet, you should consult your pediatrician.
