    Lebenswert formula is modeled after breastmilk and made with gently processed organically skimmed milk sourced from cows raised on Bioland farms, organically vegetable oilseeds, and organic whey powders.

    How Long Does a Box of Lebenswert Formula Last?

    How Long Is Lebenswert Baby Formula Good For?

    Organic Vegetable Oils

    Organic vegetable oils are an important component of any infant formula, these natural sources of fat are regularly added to ensure that infants receive the right balance of essential fatty acids for healthy brain development.

    In Lebenswert formula, a combination of three different organic vegetable fats are used, namely organic palm kernel, organic rapeseed, and organic sunflower oil.

    Vitamins & Minerals

    Lebenswert formula like any other infant formula is full of important nutrients to support your child’s health, including some of the same nutrients found in human milk. Some of these nutrients include: Vitamine C, Vitamine E, Iron Gluconate, Sodium Chloride, Calcium Carbonate, Potassium Chloride, and Zinc Sulfate.

    Organic Whey Powder

    Whey protein isolate is a dried fluid that remains after the liquid part of dairy products has been removed.

    It’s used in infant formula and followed-on formula to add organic lactose, proteins, fats, and minerals. If there’s any part of the ingredient list that says “partly” demineralized whey powder, then it means that some of the natural minerals found in whole milk have been partially stripped out. Cow and goat milk contains more calcium than human breastmilk, so they need less protein added to them to balance out their nutrition.

    How to Prepare Lebenswert Formula

    Each individual formula includes its own set of instructions. Refer to the individual product pages to find the English preparation instructions.

    Wash hands and sterilize all equipment following the manufacturer's instructions.

    Boil 1 liter of fresh drinking water and leave to cool for no longer than 30 minutes. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.

    Measure the required amount of water into a sterilized bottle (refer to the feeding guide).

    Using only the scoop provided, add the correct number of scoops of powder - 1 level scoop of powder to each fluid ounce of water (approx. 30ml). Level off the powder using the scoop leveler. Do not press down on the powder.

    Place cap(s) back on the bottle and shake vigorously until all the powder has dissolved (usually 15 seconds).

    Cool down the formula to a drinking temperature of approx. 98.6°F (37°C) by holding the bottle under cool running water. Feed immediately. Always test the temperature of the milk before feeding every time.

    What’s the Difference Between Holle & Lebenswert Formula?

    There are two main differences between Holle and Lebenswert: Maltodextrine, which is a polysaccharide derived from starch, and lecithin, which is an emulsifier (food additive).     Formula Preparation Best Practices

    Infant formula in a container should be used within one month of being opened. Write the date that the container was opened on the lid to ensure you stay within this window.

    Make sure the scoop is clean prior to scooping powder from the container.Make sure the lid is sealed tight and secure when finished. Unfinished baby formula that is refrigerated quickly can be stored for feeding within 24 hours. Otherwise, they should be discarded.

    Lebenswert Stage 2

    Lebenswert stage 2 is lactose-free and is an excellent choice for babies between six and ten months old. It contains no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or additives. It is gentle on the stomach and ideal for infants who suffer from digestion issues since it has no added sugar. Six-month-old babies begin transitioning to solid food and drinking milk. Their digestive system is not fully developed yet so they cannot digest lactose (milk sugar). You can give them breast milk or infant formula until they reach 12 months old.     Lebenswert Stage 1 uses lactose as its primary carbohydrate source, which is the same as found in breast milk. However, Lebenswert Stage 2 uses maltodextrin and starch. Maltodextrin is a natural, flavorless thickener that balances the sweetness of the baby formula without the use of additional sugars and sweeteners.

    To continue your baby’s proper development with proper nutrition, it’s advised that they progress through the feeding stages as they reach the proper age. However, a gradual transition in formula stages is advised.

    Start with a combination of three parts old formula and one part new formula. As your baby accepts the new formula, move to 50% previous stage formula and 50% new formula. Continue this gradual transition over the course of several feedings to two weeks.

    It may be best to only purchase a small amount of the new formula to see if your baby likes it. It may take one to two weeks to see any changes in burping, spit ups, stool, or gas. Ultimately, you’ll want to be feeding your baby only the next stage formula until the recommended age to progress onward.
